Our annual F1 in Schools in-house competition was held on Tuesday, 12th December.
This year was a little different as we were only judging pits and collecting race times due to a busy week in the Seniors because of the school production.
The aim of the day was to collect the first set of points to decide the two teams that would go to the Regionals Finals in February. Only one entry class team (R12s) and one development class team (R13s) would qualify.
The afternoon was great fun with teams taking their roles and responsibilities very seriously.
The team from EESW STEM Cymru set up the track and the engineering side of our Pro Class team completed scrutineering of all the racing cars. Lilia and Will from the Enterprise side of the team hosted, interviewed and ran the cars and teams on the track.
After an exciting knockout and the analysis of the track times the anticipation began to build as all the teams gathered at their pit to hear the final results.
Team Vipers took the ‘fastest car’ title for the R12’s and Team Bandit was fastest in R13.
Red Dawn Racing hosted the competition and are looking forward to hearing the verbal presentations in January.
