Last week, our R12 pupils enjoyed a fun-filled three days in Llangrannog. We started our adventure with a full afternoon of archery and team-building as our orienteering skills were put to the test before being treated to toasted marshmallows around the campfire.
On Thursday, pupils had a morning of tobogganing, skiing and go-karting before an afternoon of climbing and facing their fears on the ‘bag jump’, tackling the low-ropes course in anticipation of the more challenging high ropes course on Friday and racing down the zip wire!
On Friday morning, before our return to school, we were pleased to be out of the wind and rain, as pupils scaled the climbing wall, faced their fears on the high ropes course and enjoyed playing games in the swimming pool.
Pupils were also treated to an array of night-time activities; on the first night, we played ball games, and saw some very impressive crab-footballers! However the highlight had to be the pupils’ attempts at traditional Welsh ‘twmpath’ dancing ahead of the much anticipated disco.
Overall, everyone had a great time, and we were pleased to hear many compliments from the staff at the centre about our pupils, from the catering staff to the activity instructors to the centre managers.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Evans, Miss Beckham, Miss Harrington and Miss Cooper for coming along, and throwing themselves into all the activities!
