R8 had a wonderful time in Bryn Eryr, the Iron Age roundhouses in St Fagan’s.

To build a roundhouse, the Celts would have needed 3 football pitches’ worth of straw! In addition to this, they would have needed to use the wood from 59 trees. 

We had such fun guessing what foods the Celts ate. ‘Yes’ to (wild) strawberries, cheese and bread… ‘No’ to potatoes, tomatoes and chocolate! We found the fact that they didn’t have orange carrots but had white and purple carrots so interesting.

Our guide was extremely impressed with all of R8s brilliant questions and their lovely manners.  Well done, R8!
