Our R12 pupils enjoyed a fun-filled three days in Llangrannog last week, completing a wide variety of activities including skiing on the dry ski slope, tobogganing, ziplining, jumping onto an inflatable jumping bag, combatting the high ropes course, riding the quad bikes, driving the go-karts, and working as a team as they followed the low ropes course.
Pupils were also treated to an array of night-time activities; on the first night, we played a very tense game of bingo - thank you to our enthusiastic bingo caller, Mr Blackburn! Congratulations to Tanav, Maya, Jahnavi, Pragun, Aarush, Luca, Aanya and Miss Beckham for winning the games and earning house points!
After playing bingo, we made our way to the hall for a spot of traditional Welsh twmpath dancing, and the instructors were very impressed. They said that our R12 pupils were the best group of pupils they’d seen learning the dance routines. In fact, the pupils even re-enacted the Urdd’s very own dance routine in our disco the following night, after we toasted marshmallows around the campfire!
Overall, it was a pleasure to take R12 pupils to Llangrannog, and as already mentioned, the pupils behaved impeccably, and the staff in Llangrannog praised them for both their enthusiasm and respect shown to their peers and teachers. The staff at the centre were also very impressed with how the pupils interacted with everyone at the centre, from the dinner ladies to the activity instructors, and were commended for their behaviour.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Beckham, Mr Blackburn, Mr Evans, Mrs Palmer and Miss Thomas for coming along, and taking part in all the activities; they were just as excited as the pupils!
Mrs C George, Head of R12
