On Saturday 21st January 2023, 19 of our Sixth Form students competed in the prestigious Young Citizens’ Bar Mock Trial competition at Stowe School in Buckingham. The team comprised 4 Barristers, 5 Witnesses, 5 Jurors, Court Clerk, Usher, Legal Coach, Court Reporter and Court Artist, and they had to prepare two criminal cases. 

After several sessions on UK Law, work experience, mock trials and lots of independent work from the students involved, the team was incredibly successful and WON the competition! The team has placed St John’s College in the top 4 Independent Schools across the UK and we are so proud of their achievements. 

The students were commended for their dedication and how seriously they took their roles in the competition. Samuel Davies and Luke Samra were particularly noted by the Judges for their performances. 

This proved to be an invaluable opportunity for the students involved and gave an unparalleled insight into the UK justice system.
