Rugby 7s

The R12/13 Rugby team had a great day out at the annual Cardiff Schools 7s tournament. They played Glantaf, Cantonian, Bro Edern and Radyr.

The boys played some exciting rugby, scoring 10 tries across 4 games. Won C of R13A scored all 10 tries demonstrating tremendous power and speed. A future Louis Rees-Zammit in the making!

The team comprised of Kyran H, Cameron N, Luca F and Iwan M from R12 alongside Ricky S, Yulan S, Michael O'F, Giulio F, Johnny S and Won C from R13.

R15 Rugby Vs St Teilos

The R15 Rugby team drew St Teilos in the quarter-finals of the Cardiff Schools plate. This promised to be a challenging fixture with a number of R14 players volunteering to step up and play a year above. St Teilos scored early in the game which could have signalled the start of a long afternoon of rugby. However, the St John’s pupils showed tremendous resilience to build back into the game. A dominant second half performance from the St John’s pupils led to a fantastic win away from home. Kundi M (R15) sliced through the St Teilos defense on a number of occasions leading to numerous try-scoring opportunities.

St John’s now progress on to the semi-finals against Cathedral School, Llandaff on 30th March.
