Congratulations to Alexandra D in R13 on being awarded Highly Commended for her entry in the Key Stage 3 category of the Royal Geographical Society's annual Young Geographer of the Year competition.
This year's topic was 'Remapping Our Lives', tasking students with producing an annotated map to show the impact of covid on their lives, focusing on the changing importance of their local area and their geographical understanding of it, as well as stretching the map to other places of importance to them during the pandemic. This was run as an R12 house competition within St John's College in the Trinity Term.
Whilst Alexandra was the overall winner, Ava C and Lara O's entries were also put forward for consideration by the Royal Geographical Society. The standard of entries for this competition is very high and Alexandra has done exceptionally well to achieve this recognition.
