We are thrilled to announce that this year, for the first time, our school participated in the TeenTech Awards. Our R14 Computer Science pupils were challenged to form groups and develop new innovations that met the prestigious TeenTech Awards criteria. The students presented their innovative ideas to a panel of in-house judges, and the winning teams had the opportunity to further develop their projects for submission to the national finals.
We are proud to share that Saathvik C. and Anshu V. of R14 have been invited to the national finals, which will be held at IET, Savoy Place, London at the end of June. This is an extraordinary achievement, as they have been selected as part of the final 50 out of over 1000 entries from across the country.
Saathvik and Anshu have developed a groundbreaking piece of technology designed to assist individuals with Fragile X Syndrome (FXS), a genetic disorder characterised by mild-to-moderate intellectual disability. Their innovation leverages the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) to aid in everyday tasks and activities, providing valuable support to those affected by FXS.
The team must now research and perfect their presentation skills to prepare for the finals in June. Their innovation will be judged by industry experts, including famous faces from the engineering world. In previous years, this esteemed panel has included luminaries such as Professor Brian Cox and James May.
We are incredibly proud of Saathvik and Anshu’s hard work, creativity, and dedication. Their achievement not only highlights their talent but also underscores the innovative spirit we strive to cultivate in our students.
Congratulations to Saathvik and Anshu, and we wish them the best of luck in the national finals.
