Our R15 Silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) participants recently embarked on their practice expedition, showcasing resilience, teamwork, and determination across two challenging days.
The expedition kicked off with a demanding 15km trek on the first day, as the groups navigated varied terrain under warm daytime conditions. Spirits remained high as they reached the campsite, where they worked together to prepare some fantastic meals in their groups.
As night fell, the temperature dropped significantly, and by morning, the campers awoke to the surprising sight of ice on their tents—a true test of endurance! Despite the cold start, they pressed on for another 17km on the second day, demonstrating incredible perseverance and teamwork.
Throughout the journey, the students remained well-behaved, supportive of one another, and fully embraced the DofE spirit. This practice expedition has certainly prepared them well for their assessed journey in June, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.
Well done, R15—onward to the next adventure!
