Congratulations to our Senior chess players who are another step closer to the finals of this year's ECF U19 National Schools Chess Championship.

After a decisive victory against Crickhowell High School before Christmas, the team turned their attention to Redland Green School in Bristol, the venue for the next round.

The fixture was hard fought, with some very tough opposition on boards 2 and 3. However, some excellent strategy from our young players earned St John's a 4-2 victory and a place in the next round.

Well done to all our players - Ethan, Ben, Krishna, Albert, Daniel and Aaryan, along with our travelling reserves Giulio, Emrys and Sean.
