At St John’s College Nursery, we create a nurturing haven where your child can feel confident, happy and secure.
We pride ourselves on broadening children’s horizons and keeping the magic alive in their learning.
The Nursery has a ‘Creative Area’ used for exploring and experimenting. This area includes art, water play, sand play, and our topic corner.
Children can often be found in the ‘Home Corner’, making delicious meals, dressing up as their heroes and expressing themselves.
Our ‘Water Play Corner’ is an area of discovery and is filled with bubbles, colour and beautiful fragrances.
The Nursery also contains a ‘Quiet Room’. Here the children listen to magical stories, engage in circle time and expand their learning using the Interactive Whiteboard.
The Nursery pupils also take part in Forest School and the Nursery Allotment. Here the children have many adventures, from teddy bears’ picnics to making houses for our woodland friends. Our allotment is a place where the children can dig, plant and watch their bulbs and seeds grow with great excitement.
The Nursery has weekly cooking sessions where we create a range of delicious recipes, ranging from hedgehog bread and superfood soup, to fruit smoothies and biscuits.
Children attend our Nursery from the age of 3 years. Our day begins at 8.00 am and finishes at 3.25 pm. After a short play break, we then also offer an ‘After-School Club’ that runs until 6.00 pm.
